Rovio 'considering Irish move'

The Finnish company behind the hit mobile game Angry Birds is considering moving its headquarters to Ireland, it has been reported.

Chief executive of game developer Rovio Mikael Hed told today's Irish Times that the company is in contact with the IDA about establishing headquarters here.

However Hed said it was yet to be decided what operations would be relocated if the move happens.

“The Irish authorities have been very active and we have been promoting that. We are considering it,” Mr Hed was quoted as saying.

“It is something that we need to look at. For now we have stayed in Finland. But it is on top of our minds."
