Pensioner describes gang attack at his home

A pensioner attacked in his home, along with his two elderly sisters, has spoken for the first time about their ordeal.

A pensioner attacked in his home, along with his two elderly sisters, has spoken for the first time about their ordeal.

Willie Creed, 74, from Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, said he thought he and his siblings would be killed during the violent aggravated burglary last Thursday night.

Mr Creed and his sisters were tied up and assaulted during the night-time raid on their islolated farmhouse.

A 27-year old man is being questioned by gardaí in connection with the incident.

"The very minute I opened the bedroom door they were right on top of me, and knocked me to the floor," he said.

"They had two butchers' knives and they had two pointed sticks.

"They gave me a belt of one of them down the head. And the two sisters - they had them beated up as well."
