Three Polish men have appeared in court charged after drugs worth around €1.5m were found in cannabis grow houses in West Dublin and Co Meath.

Gardaí carried out raids on several premises yesterday and made five arrests as part of an investigation into criminal groups involved in drug trafficking.

Two other men remain in custody in Ballymun and Navan garda stations.

The three men are charged with cannabis possession, possession for sale and supply and cultivation at their homes in West Dublin.

Their names are Marcin Olszewski, a 31-year-old with an address at The Nurseries, Mulhuddart, 31-year-old Slawomir Lewandoski and 29-year-old Robert Gogolewski both with addresses at Arran Court in Blanchardstown.

All three were arrested around 8.30am yesterday morning following a series of garda raids that uncovered cannabis grow houses with drugs valued at €1.5m.

The court heard none of the men made a reply when charged last night.

Judge Anthony Halpin has granted them legal aid and remanded them in custody until Tuesday and Wednesday of next week when bail applications are exptected to be made.

Two more men arrested in connection with the drugs remain in custody in Ballymun and Navan garda stations.
