A cyclist in her 70s has been killed in a road crash with a school bus.

A cyclist in her 70s has been killed in a road crash with a school bus.

The accident happened at Kickham Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary, at 9.50am today.

There were no passengers on board the bus when the crash happened.

Elsewhere, gardai have named a motorist who died after a two-car collision close to her Co Louth home.

Cathy Maguire, 23, of Riverstown, Dundalk, was airlifted to Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry, yesterday morning. She died yesterday evening.

The driver of the other car and a passenger in Ms Maguire’s car were both treated in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for minor injuries.
