Father and daughter still critical following Belfast shooting

A father and daughter are still critically ill in hospital after they were shot in north Belfast yesterday.
Harry Hales, 47, was hit at least twice in the chest when he was getting into a car outside a house in Evelyn Gardens. His daughter Emma, 18, who was with him at the time was shot in the stomach and hand.
Mr Hales, who is well-known to the police in the city, is believed to have been the intended target. A source close to the city’s underworld said: “He would have a lot of enemies.”
His condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital was described as “life-threatening”.
A spokesman said his daughter was “critical but stable”.
