CSO figures reveal rise in employment in final quarter of 2011

The number of people in employment in Ireland grew by 10,000 in the last quarter of 2011.

The number of people in employment in Ireland grew by 10,000 in the last quarter of 2011.

That is the the first increase in employment since 2007, but over the year the number of people in employment decreased by 0.8%.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
