Man taken to hospital after firearm discharged

Gardai have appealed for information following an incident in Co Wexford (Niall Carson/PA)

A man has been treated in hospital after a firearm was discharged at a property in Co Wexford.

The incident occurred in the Coolcotts area of Wexford Town on Saturday at around 11.30pm.

A man in his 50s was taken to Wexford General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

An incident room has been established at Wexford Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
