The Cork hurlers have suffered another injury blow with the news that Robbie O’Flynn has been sidelined with a hamstring problem, Echo live have reported.

The Erin’s Own man was forced off in training last week and is set to be out for a three-week period.

That would make him unavailable for Sunday’s last Munster SHC round-robin fixture, against Clare at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, and he would also almost certainly miss the final on Sunday, June 7 if Cork were to get there.

While O’Flynn was not used in provincial championship opener against Tipperary, he was a late sub in the win over Limerick a week later and was the first attacker brought off the bench in the victory away to Waterford last Saturday week.

The 28-year-old has struggled with hamstring issues over the past few years. He sustained an injury while scoring a goal against Tipperary in 2023, kept him out for the rest of Cork’s truncated championship campaign as they failed to get out of Munster; then he had another setback in February of the following year but he did recover to feature as a sub throughout the championship campaign, up to and including the All-Ireland final loss to Clare.

In 2025, O’Flynn appeared off the bench in the Munster final win over Limerick, winning a third provincial medal.

His absence comes on top of injuries to Robert Downey (ankle ligaments), Ciarán Joyce (cruciate ligament) and captain Darragh Fitzgibbon (appendicitis), with Joyce ruled out for the rest of the year while the other two are, like O’Flynn, unlikely to feature again in Munster.
