Gardaí renew appeal over Finglas pub killing

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information following the shooting death of a 36-year-old man in Dublin last month.

Alan McNally was killed at 1am on Thursday, February 2 at the Cappagh Nua bar on Barry Road in Finglas.

Officers are looking to track down the gunman and his accomplice, who was standing outside the bar wearing a 'Scream'-style Hallowe'en mask.

The gunman was approximately 6' tall, of stocky build and he had his face covered.

The other malewas approximately 5’10" in height and of slim build.

The gunman and his accomplice fled the scene and were last seen running across Barry Road from An Cappagh Nua in the direction of the Casement area.

Crimestoppers is also offering a substantial reward to anyone who can help to bring the prepetrators to justice.

Detective Inspector Kieran McEneaney from Finglas Garda Station said gardaí believe the assailants are still living in the Finglas area.

"We know the gang members that were involved in this particular murder," Det Insp McEneaney said.

He said up to four people were involved, taking into account the planning and preparation of the killing, and others who provided assistance to the killers after the fact.

"We believe that they are all living within our community here in Finglas," he said.

"We are very anxious to identify the persons responsible for Alan’s murder.

"Someone might have information that they think is insignificant which could actually be vital."
