Gardaí make 24 arrests in six-month covert drug-trafficking operation

Gardaí have arrested 24 people and charged them on drugs offences in Co. Waterford.

The 23 men and one woman, ranging in age from 17 to 50, were all arrested since this time yesterday on suspicion of being involved in the sale and supply of heroin, MDMA and other drugs.

They will appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court tonight, on 90 charges made as part of a major investigation into drug trafficking in Waterford city.

Twenty-four houses were searched after a six-month covert operation and gardaí say small amounts of cocaine and heroin were seized as part of those searches.
