No data protection breach in Greyhound service transfer
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner has found that there was no data protection breach in connection with the handover of waste manangement services from Dublin City Council to Greyhound Waste.
After an investigation, the Office concluded that the core elements of the sale of the business did not break the Data Protection Acts.
But the Office has said that a notification letter regarding the new service provider - which was mailed out in the first half of January - should have taken place at a much earlier stage.
In terms of customer debts, no transfer of personal data was found to have taken place between Dublin City Council and Greyhound - only names, addresses and whether a household was entitled to a waiver were given.
