Man charged with New Year's Day assault
A 23-year-old man has today been charged with assaulting a man in his 30s in Cork on New Year's Day.
The attack, which happened in Ballydaheen in Mallow on January 1, has left the victim in a serious condition in hospital.
This morning, Roy O’Driscoll from Rossa Avenue, College Wood in Mallow, appeared at Fermoy District Court charged with assault causing harm.
Judge Olann Kelleher remanded him in custody with consent to bail and an order to observe a curfew and to always be sober in public places.
