The ESB is continuing its efforts to reconnect customers electricity supply today while they send some teams to Scotland to help with reconnections there also.

The ESB is continuing its efforts to reconnect customers electricity supply today while they send some teams to Scotland to help with reconnections there also.

Up 250 households or businesses are without power as a result of the high winds that have battered the country for several days now.

The remaining faults are centred on counties Cork, Donegal, Wexford, Dublin, Galway and Cavan and the company is confident the problems will be resolved shortly.

Meanwhile, 56 members of ESB staff are travelling to Scotland today to help with the storm clean-up operation there.
