Govt announces €500k memorial for abuse victims

The Government has announced that a memorial is to be designed for the victims of institutional abuse.

It follows recommendations made in the Ryan Report.

A budget of €500,000 has been set aside for the project which has been established with the help of survivor groups and interested parties.

It is expected the design of this memorial will be revealed in June 2012.
