Fianna Fáil Education Spokesperson Brendan Smith TD has criticised the education cuts announced today, pointing out the fact that rural schools will bear a "disproportionate cost".

In today's Budget announcements, Minister Brendan Howlin announced that the primary school transport charge is to be doubled from €50 to €100 per child, with the maximum payment per family doubled to €220.
