ISPCC: Up to 16% of young people meet with online contacts

A shocking new report has revealed that 16% of youngsters have met up with people they came in contact with online.

The study, carried out by the ISPCC, said the 2,000 people aged between 10 and 18 found that in many cases the people were not who they purported to be.

The survey also said young people are spending too much time on the internet and can too easily access adult content due to a lack of supervision.

Caroline O'Sullivan, the ISPCC Director of Services, has said people aged under 18 are putting themselves at risk through their online activity.
