Roscommon gardaí question man after woman's death from stab wounds

Gardaí in Roscommon are continuing to question a man in his 20s in connection with the death of a woman in the town yesterday afternoon.

A 49-year-old woman, named locally as Ann Henry, was found in a collapsed state with multiple stab wounds in a housing estate in the Abbeytown area at around 2.30pm.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead by 4pm.

A post mortem will take place on her body this afternoon at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
