President Mary McAleese will open the event which is being hosted by Console, the charity for those bereaved by suicide, at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham.

It's one of a range of activities taking place to mark Suicide Awareness Week In Ireland.

More than 10 people take their own lives here every week.
