Two arrested in connection with discovery of cannabis growhouse

Gardaí have tonight charged two men in connection with the discovery of 350 cannabis plants and 4 kilos of herbal cannabis in Ballyboughal, Co Dublin.

Gardaí have tonight charged two men in connection with the discovery of 350 cannabis plants and 4 kilos of herbal cannabis in Ballyboughal, Co Dublin.

They will appear before Balbriggan District Ct at 10.30am tomorrow.

As a result of an intelligence-led investigation, a search was carried out by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit yesterday evening at the rural dwelling.

The total estimated street value is €200,000 – subject to further analysis.

A sophisticated lighting and irrigation system was installed in two rooms in the house and one outhouse.

Two men aged 27 and 32 years were arrested and are now detained at Ballymun garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
