Gardaí in Dublin are making a fresh appeal for information about the death of a 12-year-old boy in a fire in Tallaght ten years ago tomorrow.

Stephen Hughes Connors died in the blaze at Rossfield Avenue in Brookfield on September 1, 2001.

He had been asleep in a makeshift hut made from pallets, doors and carpet with his 14-year-old friend when it was set on fire.

The incident was featured in a ‘Crimeline’ programme in 2003 and re-examined by the Serious Crime Review Team who made an arrest in April 2006.

The 51-year-old suspect was not prosecuted after a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí at Tallaght.
