Elderly woman dies in Galway house fire

A woman in her 70s has died in a fire in Co Galway today.

The blaze broke out shortly after midnight at a house on the old Galway Road in Loughrea.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two males who were also in the house were taken to hospital, however their condition is not believed to be serious.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, but it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
