National Bike Week begins today

Today marks the launch of National Bike Week.

The nationwide initiative will see lots of cycling events taking place across the country during the next seven days.

Organised by the Department of Transport, the event aims to help address the reduction in the number of people using bikes for transport and recreation.

During the past 25 years the number of those who cycle to work has halved while the number of those driving has doubled.
