Jury in busker murder trial asks to see CCTV footage
The jury in the trial of two Wicklow men for the murder of a French busker in Bray have asked to review CCTV footage that allegedly identifies the accused on the night.
Declan Sheridan of Sugarloaf View, Sea Road, Kilcoole and James O'Connor, of Kilbridge Grove in Bray, both deny the killing at Richmond Hill, Fassaroe in the early hours of May 29, 2009.
After an hour and a half of deliberations the jury returned to court this evening and asked to review footage of a halting site captured on CCTV after the shooting.
A garda witness claims he can identify the accused Declan Sheridan and James O'Connor in the images.
It is alleged that the two men went to the halting site after firing bullets through the bedroom window of 33-year-old musician and juggler Charles Sinapayen.
The prosecution says it is a motiveless killing.
Their chief witness Keith Lowe gave evidence that he drove the accused to Fassaroe and then on to a local cemetary where gardaí later found two sawn-off shotguns.
He said afterwards at the halting site O'Connor was told him that he would be given an alibi if he needed one.
