Queen to travel south today
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will conclude her first ever State visit to Ireland later today.
It is hoped that up to 25,000 people will turn out in Cork City to greet the British Monarch and her husband, Philip.
The Queen will begin with a tour of the Rock of Cashel, before travelling to Cork City after lunch.
Her first stop is the historic English Market where she will be greeted by a thousand school children.
It houses a range of stalls selling meat, seafood, cheeses and many other foods and showcases the best in Irish produce.
Unlike her visit to Dublin, the public is being encouraged to come to the city centre to see the Royal couple.
The Royals will also tour the Tyndall National Institute, a leading technology institution, where they are expected to meet five-month-old former conjoined twins Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf, who were separated at London’s Great Ormond Street hospital last month after a marathon period of surgery.
She will then fly home from Cork Airport.
