Firefighters tackle gorse fires in Donegal, Mayo and Down

Firefighters on both sides of the border are this morning tackling three gorse fires which have broken out in counties Donegal, Mayo and Down.

In Donegal, 10 units of the fire service are trying to bring under control a large gorse fire between Lettermacaward and Dungloe. A number of roads have been closed as a result.

In Mayo, the fire service is dealing with sporadic gorse fires along the Castlebar to Pontoon Road in the Ross area.

And in Co Down, the Northern Ireland Fire Service is dealing with a gorse fire near the Annalong Wood area of the Mourne Mountains.
