Dublin Zoo to confirm gender of gorilla
Dublin Zoo will be announcing the sex of the recently born baby gorilla later today and giving an update on how the new arrival is doing.
Ciaran McMahon, team leader responsible for the gorillas, has been keeping an eye on the two-week-old.
He will describe what the new birth means to the western lowland gorilla conservation and international breeding programme.
It has taken a while to determine the sex of the newborn because the mother gorilla has been keeping her offspring clutched firmly to her chest.
