Gilmore: Trade union political donations will be axed

The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said political donations from trade unions will be scrapped as part of a new ban on corporate donations to be introduced by the Government.

Mr Gilmore, whose party receives money from trade union subscriptions, said there would be no distinction between donations from unions and those from big business.
