Man dies in Clare house fire

A man has died following a house fire in Kilrush in Co Clare.

Fire units responded to the blaze which was discovered at a house on Chapel Drive shortly after 4am this morning.

A man - believed to be in his 50s - was discovered inside but efforts to resuscitate him failed.

The scene of the fire remains sealed off, and investigations into its cause continue.
