The Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has made a last ditch plea to party members this evening appealing to them to support the party this Friday.

Addressing a rally in Navan, Co. Meath this evening, he's urged supporters to "use every waking hour in the days ahead" to tell people Fianna Fáil will not let them down.

He's also used the opportunity to attack Enda Kenny and Eamon Gilmore who he says a "visionaries with perfect hindsight" and who have "conveniently forgotten everything they said in the last two campaigns and every day of the Dáil".

In a passionate speech before over 300 supporters, Micheál Martin has also criticised those who believe elections are won before the people have spoken.
