Gardaí investigate fire in Limerick Prison

Investigations are underway into the cause of a fire in a cell at Limerick Prison.

The fire broke out shortly before 5pm this evening but it is believed no one was injured.

Three fire units from the Limerick City Fire Service attended the scene.

Gardaí and prison authorities are investigating the incident.
