Mansergh makes statement of support for Cowen

Minister of State Martin Mansergh has voiced his support for Brian Cowen as leader of Fianna Fáil.

He says throughout any leadership heave, his position is always to support the Taoiseach "for as long as the Taoiseach in question decides to remain".

He says a leadership change now would lead to political instability.
