Further snow forecast

There is a warning of further snow falls in most parts of the country before the end of the week.

Met Eireann said a band of rain on Thursday night and Friday morning looks set to fall as sleet and snow nationwide - with up to 10cm of snow in many areas.

The snow is forecast to lie in parts - leading to icy stretches on roads - as a sharp frost will develop over much of the country on Thursday and Friday nights.

There will also be showers of sleet on Saturday - mainly affecting western and northern areas - but falling as snow in places - with further wintry showers on Sunday.
