A recent poll in the Irish Times found that the majority of middle class people surveyed welcomed the package.

But it found that a significant number of working class people are opposed to it.

Barbara Nolan, who heads up the EU commission Body in Ireland, said more needs to be done to highlight the benefits of the rescue plan:
