Report recommends periodic payments for medical negligence victims

A new legal report has condemned as inadequate the practice of only awarding lump sum payments in medical negligence cases.

The expert study, headed up by a High Court judge, recommends new laws that would allow those who have been seriously injured to receive periodic payments for their long-term care.
