Man hospitalised following Clare assault

A 25-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital following an assault in Co Clare last night.

It happened at an apartment on Parnell Court in Ennis shortly before midnight.

The man sustained injuries to his neck and back and is being treated at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
