Teenager arrested after handgun seized

A man in his late teens has been arrested after a handgun was seized from him at East Road, East Wall in Dublin this afternoon.

He was arrested following an intelligence-led operation which took place at about 2.30pm this afternoon.

The young man is currently being detained at Store Street garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The operation was carried out by local detective and drug units from the North Central Division.
