HSE to probe surgery cases in Navan hospital
The HSE has confirmed that it is investigating six cases where patients suffered adverse outcomes following surgery at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.
The news follows the controversial decision by the HSE to cease all emergency and elective surgery in the hospital a number of weeks ago.
It is believed that the cases under review may have contributed to that decision, but a HSE spokesperson said surgery was stopped on the back of clinical advice.
Hundreds of people are meanwhile expected to turn out at a protest against the cutbacks tomorrow.
