HSE to make announcement on future of surgery at Navan hospital
A major announcement regarding the future of Our Lady's Hospital in Navan will be made later today.
It comes just three weeks after the HSE ordered the hospital to stop all keyhole surgery immediately following an internal audit.
It meant all general surgeries - such as appendix, gallstones and hernias - would be instead carried out at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda
It is now feared that this announcement could mean the end of the line for all emergency and non-emergency surgery at Our Lady's hospital in Navan.
