Shooting victim recovering in hospital

A man in his thirties is recovering at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin after being shot during an incident on the Carlow/Wicklow border last night.

He was tied up and shot in the arm at his home near Hacketstown at around 10pm.

He was in the house on his own at the time but managed to free himself and raise the alarm.

A technical examination is being carried out at the scene.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
