Three people have been killed on the roads overnight in separate accidents in Limerick and Donegal.

Three people have been killed on the roads overnight in separate accidents in Limerick and Donegal.

One man lost his life when the car in which he was travelling hit a pole on the main street in Hospital in Co. Limerick at 5.20am this morning.

Another man is in a serious condition following the crash.

Meanwhile an investigation is underway into a crash in Co. Donegal, which claimed the lives of two young men.

The two-car collision happened near Mulroy Bridge in the Fanad Peninsula just before 8pm last night.

The two men who died are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s and from the local area.
