Gardaí hold man in connection with Kildare stabbing

A 48-year-old man remains in Garda custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 31-year-old woman in Athy, Co Kildare.

It happened during a row at a house on Michael Dooley Terrace at around midnight last night.

A second man was treated in hospital for minor stab wounds.

The man is being held at Kildare Garda Station.
