ICTU: Govt transfixed by banks, ignoring jobless

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has accused the Government of ignoring the jobs crisis and failing the country's 435,000 jobless people.

In a May Day statement, Congress General Secretary David Begg said the entire apparatus of Government seems to be "transfixed" by the banking crisis.

The annual May Day rally will see protestors march from Parnell Square to Liberty Hall later today, at 2pm.
