Irish and British airspace reopened on phased basis
The Irish Aviation Authority has given the go-ahead for Irish Airspace to reopen with immediate effect.
However, it is warning that the lifting of restrictions is subject to the ash cloud not moving over Ireland tonight and no further aggressive volcanic activity.
It is expected that flights tomorrow will focus on positioning aircraft and crews and full service by the airlines may take up to three days to recover.
Passengers are being advised to consult their airline's websites before travelling to the airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority in the UK has also announced that British Airspace will be re-opened on a phased basis.
