Man continues to be questioned in connection with Cork death
A 31-year-old man has been held overnight for questioning in connection with a murder in Cork city.
The body of 25-year-old Lee McCarthy was found behind a house in Gurranabraher early yesterday morning.
Lee McCarthy, a native of London who had been living in Cork City for some years with his family, was found dead yesterday.
His body was discovered in a shed behind a house on St Rita's Avenue in Gurranabraher just after half six in the morning.
He had been beaten and stabbed to death.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and held overnight at Gurranabraher garda station.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who saw anything unusual in the area of Granfather's Road or St Rita's Avenue between 5-7am yesterday morning to contact them.
