The jury in a trial of a Dublin father accused of raping, sexually assaulting and physically assaulting his daughter over a 10-year period, have been sent away until tomorrow morning.

The jury in a trial of a Dublin father accused of raping, sexually assaulting and physically assaulting his daughter over a 10-year period, have been sent away until tomorrow morning.

Justice Barry White told the jury on day two of the trial that during cross examination of the complainant by defence counsel, Mr John Peart SC, it came to light that despite information in the Book of Evidence that the complainant had attended St James’s Hospital in April 2006, prior to making her statements on the alleged offences to gardaí, there was no evidence from any doctor in relation to the mental state of the complainant.
