North's Enterprise Minister calls for resolution to Quinn row

The North's Enterprise Minister has appealed for the situation at Quinn Insurance to be resolved as quickly as possible to allow the company to do business in the UK again.

It comes as the Financial Regulator considers a proposal submitted by senior management at the company to remove the company from provisional administration.

The business plan was handed in this week ahead of the case's return to the High Court on Monday.

Speaking at a rally in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, the North's Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster appealed for a solution to be found swiftly.

Anglo Irish Bank is proposing to invest €700m in the Quinn Group to allow the company to meet the solvency requirements of the financial regulator.
