Hayes to lead Tallaght Hospital investigation
Dr Maurice Hayes is to chair the review into failures at Tallagh Hospital.
The review - ordered by head of the HSE Professor Brendan Drumm - is to investigate the delay in reporting radiological exams and the management of GP referral letters.
Dr Hayes - who spent most of his life working in the public service in the North - authored the report that led to the establishment of the office of the Police Ombudsman and chaired a review of acute hospital services.
The Review will be supported by a Steering Group which will include a GP, a patient advocate and a radiologist.
The terms of reference of the review will be published next week and it is expected to report in about three months.
