Man dies in Cork blaze
Gardaí are investigating a blaze that claimed the life of a 60-year-old man in Cork overnight.
The fire broke out shortly before 11pm last night at a house on Churchfield Hill on the northside of the city.
Three units of Cork City Fire Brigade, units of the ambulance service and gardaí all responded to an emergency call to the scene.
It is understood the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem.
Units of the Fire Brigade left the scene at around 12.30am and gardaí have launched a full investigation into the cause of the blaze.
It is thought the fire started accidentally.
