Ireland 'has only 11 days of gas reserves'

A new report has warned that Ireland has just 11 days worth of natural gas reserves.

The Ecology Foundation says we are in an increasingly vulnerable position, because any political dispute where suppliers 'turn off the tap' could bring Ireland to a halt.

Their study 'Energy Security - Ireland on the Edge' points out that the Kinsale gas field is almost exhausted and long-term needs can only be met by bringing the Corrib Gas Field onshore.
