Cavan gardaí arrest three in dissidents probe

Gardaí investigating the activities of dissident republicans have arrested three men in Co. Cavan.

Officers carried out a search of a private residence in Belturbet earlier today and siezed a firearm during the operation.

The men arrested are aged 38, 39, and 44 and are being detained at Ballyconnell and Cavan garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
